The performance features include the Intel® Xeon® processor with Dual Core™ technology, Registered ECC DDR SDRAM DIMMs expandable to 16GB or 32GB for future investment protection. In addition, the increased number of memory channel increases the memory throughput performance fourfold over the previous generation product. The Acer Altos R520 introduces 2.5 inch disk drive technology, in both SATA and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) variants. Modular system designs support an upgradeable RAID 5 path and also the ability to switch between PCI Express and legacy PCI interfaces.
